Solano Business Summit

Join local businesses for this half-day summit of professional development and networking. Designed to elevate your leadership skills, this summit is FREE to all Solano County employers.

  • 9:00am – 9:15am: Update from Solano-Napa Small Business Development Center – Brianna Boyd
  • 9:15am – 10:15am: Employee Handbooks Do’s and Don’ts, led by CEA President & CEO Kim Gusman
  • 10:15am – 10:30am: Update from the Workforce Development Board of Solano County – April Ziomek-Portillo
  • 10:30am – 12:00pm: Problem Solving and Critical Thinking, interactive training led by CEA Training & Coaching Director Jessica Rivera, MBA, PHR, SHRM-CP

Problem Solving and Critical Thinking

Learn the critical dimensions of business-based decision making including practical tools to be used when defining problems, considering alternatives, and coming to conclusions. We will introduce the “Six Thinking Hats” methodology which allows you to look at an issue from a variety of perspectives in a clear, conflict-free way. It is used by individuals and groups to move outside habitual ways of thinking and think constructively about how to move forward. Start developing and improving your critical thinking skills today!
