The Career in Focus program is for young adults ages 16-24 that live in Solano County. You can earn cash for completing activities while you gain education or experience in jobs and careers that REALLY fit your interests. Start building your future now!

Services

The Career in Focus young adult program provides individual services through First Place for Youth and VOICES. Services may include:

  • Career exploration
  • Leadership skills
  • Mentoring opportunities
  • Assistance gaining a high school diploma or GED
  • Occupational training
  • Preparation for college
  • Cash incentives for obtaining key goals
  • Money management workshops
  • Job preparation
  • Wrap-around supports to you help meet your goals

How to Apply Today!

The Career in Focus young adult program serves individuals who are between the ages of 16 and 24 and are eligible to work in the United States. In addition, individuals must meet specific program requirements.

Individuals must meet the eligibility requirements under WIOA Youth:

  • Ages 16 – 24 (16-18 years old must not be currently enrolled in school and not working)
  • Registered, if applicable, or willing to register with the Selective Service System (all men ages 18 – 24)
  • Meet low-income guidelines or have a documented disability
  • Need additional assistance in completing education or employment
