Financial Supports For Businesses
The Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Solano County works with businesses to hire, develop, and train their talent through matching training funds and customized services.
Take advantage of our financial support programs:
The WDB has funding that will match employers’ investment up to 75% of the employees’ wages while they are training on site. This will provide an opportunity to impact an employer’s bottom line by offsetting the high cost of hiring and training new employees.
The WDB provides subsidized wages for eligible individuals for up to 6 months, with 100% subsidy provided for the first three months of employment. This provides businesses an opportunity to test the skill set and cultural fit of a candidate with minimal risk.
Incumbent Worker Training
The WDB provides a 50% match of an employers’ cash or in-kind investment in improving the technical skills of its employees. This allows businesses to be more competitive and take a proactive role in maintaining current skill sets within their industry.
The WDB provides a 50% match of an employers’ cash or in-kind investment in training candidates before onboarding them. This allows businesses to ensure required skills sets are met before hiring.
